My Bio

Hello, my name is Scott Palm. I was born with a disability called cerebral palsy. Because of my disability, I am unable to speak. Instead, I use a device called a PRC Accent 1400 to communicate with those around me. My device uses software called Unity to allow me to speak. Every word or phrase is made up of a 1-3 icon sequence, and by using these icons, I am able to produce sentences easier than just typing everything out. 

In 1992, I became an ambassador for Prentke Romich Company, the company that created my communication device. As an ambassador, I would be there to support PRC while they conducted device classes. However, I was only able to support these students in class; if there were more questions or assistance that they needed outside of class, there was no way to help. Seeing this, I was inspired to create Palm Tree Enterprises in 2005. My mission is to help advocate for and better serve those with disabilities
